My brother and I were just chilling the other night, listening to music on our satellite radio when we got into a deep discussion about saving for our futures. We were not discussing the immediate future, but for one day when we retire. My brother is very passionate about this and I am sure that he is Michael Dinich’s biggest fan.
I really never understood why saving for retirement pertained to me, as I was young and just out of high school. Then my brother showed me a daily article that said we should be saving for retirement from the moment we start working at a paying job. We would then never even miss the money because it would just be another deduction that was always there.
It made sense to me, even though my biggest worry money wise was whether my paycheck would be big enough for all of the clothes that I wanted that week. My brother taught me that your money matters, even if you don’t have financial responsibilities. I am glad that he cares enough to show me what is important and I am glad to know that when I do retire, I will be just fine, because of the wise words of Michael Dinich.
Of all the things that I remember from my years in college, I would have to say that the most boring thing I remember is writing the countless term papers I needed to complete my degree. I don’t know if the professors just wanted to inflict pain on students as the number of papers that I wrote was a little ridiculous.
I especially didn’t care for the few research papers that I was forced to write as the amount of work needed to complete them interfered with my other assignments.
At one point, the workload was too much and I went online and did a search for "termpaper", to see if I could buy a paper instead of writing it myself. But at the time, the prices were too high, so I had to pass on purchasing one.
I’m very happy that I don’t really have to write anything for my current job as college sucked the writer out of me.
When I realized how many Pakistanis in Calgary ran their own businesses, I was very impressed. I knew when I came to Canada that I would run my own business, but I was not exactly sure what that would be. I knew I would have to see what was needed once I got here.
The first thing I had to do when I got settled in my new country was to do a class 7 knowledge test so that I might be able to eventually drive here. I loved driving back home and I could not imagine a life where I could not drive.
I deduced that there were a lot of Pakistani restaurants, so I did not want to open another. I decided that I would open a store that specialized in Pakistani foods. I thought that I might have less competition from my fellow Pakistanis if I did this.
I have been here now for five years and the store does well and I can drive!
I was out shopping today to get groceries when I noticed that there was a sale going on. The store that I was shopping in was having a sale on summer supplies, and I thought it would be a great time to stock up.
Good thing for me that I brought our mini-van with me today. I found myself looking at the patio furniture as well as a kiddie pool for my children. I was just about to leave when a display caught my eye.
There right in front of me was a display for sun screen. In fact, I think it was the best deal that I had ever seen, their prices were two for one. If you have kids, you know that you go through a ton of the stuff, so I ended up picking up ten bottles (no I am not crazy).
After putting the sunscreen into my cart, I realized that I should buy some Mosquito repellent as well. We go camping quite frequently, and therefore use a lot of bug spray. It was on sale as well, so I picked up a couple as well.
Now, all I am missing is the sun and heat - otherwise I have everything that I need for summer.
After trying for the past six months to get our online business off the ground, I have pretty much given up. What I thought would be an easy task has turned into a nightmare with little rewards. I think that the site has made a big two sales, and that is not enough to even break even. So, I have decided that it is time to call in a professional, and see if they can help out.
I recently contacted an Internet Marketing Consulting Firm to see what they could do for me in terms of my Internet marketing campaign. We scheduled a meeting and sat down to discuss how they could help me with my business.
At our meeting, they brought up many valid points and even gave me some free suggestions on how I could increase my website traffic. From talking with them, I could tell that they knew their stuff, so I hired them on the spot to take care of my Internet marketing.
Now, just a week later, I have already doubled my sales, and it is looking like the business will actually end up being profitable this month. I am very thankful that they were able to help us out - I will be using their services in the future for any other online businesses that I decide to start.
I don’t know about you, but I am tired of looking at my worn out eyes each and every day in the mirror. What used to be a sparkly blue is now dull and faded. I don’t know if it is because I am getting older (not that I would admit it), or if they are just getting a little worn out. But whatever it is, I believe it is time to change my eye color.
So, I have been looking for ways that allow you to change your eye color. I quickly dismissed the idea of getting contacts due to the health implications with your eyes. Instead, I thought that it would be better to find a procedure that I could do that would change my eye color permanently.
I found a company called New Color Iris that does a medical procedure that allows you to do an eye color change safely and permanently. From looking at their website, it looks like it is pretty simple and clear cut solution, though I think I will read up a bit before I do it. But, it sure does look like the solution to my fading eye color.
I remember the very first time I ever kissed a boy. We were at summer camp and we had just come back from a summer dance and I had just found out that this particular boy had had a crush on me the entire summer. He was cute enough and I have to admit I had romantic thoughts about him more than once.
I was 14 years old at the time and my friend somehow managed to have this boy and I meet behind the wall tents after lights out. As we were both very shy I am not sure how the kids actually came about. To this day I still swear that he kissed me, but if you ask him he says I kissed him first.
Ten years later, we are still very good friends. There was never another kiss as we both found love before we came back to camp the next summer. It is kind of funny how romances have come and gone and yet our friendship remains strong to this day.
For the longest time I have been considering creating a course to sell. You see, there is a market for the few things that I am good at such as playing the piano and cooking. But when I looked into each, one of them was guaranteed to be a winner while the other would do alright, but not exceptional.
So at that point, I decided to leave the cooking course behind and focus on creating a learn & master the piano course. Having played the piano for most of my life, I knew that I had the talent that would be needed, but I was unsure as to whether or not I had the teaching ability.
At that point, I expressed my concerns to a good friend of mine, Brett. He owns a video creation company, and he offered to help me create a video tutorial series to go along with the course. It was a very good idea.
So, now I am just putting the finishing touches on my course before it goes live. There is still a bit of writing to do before I am ready to ship the final product, but it is exciting to see it finally coming together. I have been waiting a long time for this.
I have a friend who has been working in a health food store for years now and I am very surprised at how drastically different they are now than they were years ago. I remember when it was all about natural weight loss supplement supplies and protein powders and that kind of thing.
It has evolved so much and serves so many more purposes now than it did years ago. While I was waiting in the store to go for lunch with my friend, a lady came in to pick up her supplements for thyroid care. I was surprised that the store catered to not only the fitness junkies anymore, but to the general public.
I mentioned this to my friend and she said that they had certainly come a long way. She said that they actually now carried ADD/ADHD natural treatments for children and that most parents felt so much better giving their child a natural treatment over a prescription drug. I agreed with her and am glad to say I might actually find a use for the place yet.
I have seen many websites over the years that have been innovative and stood out from their peers. Some it was due to their design - they were very beautiful and professional looking. But, the most memorable sites were the ones that took one good thing, added it to another and created something unique.
I had the opportunity this week to come across one of those sites. I was actually in the process of submitting my site to a business directory when I noticed something different about the site that I was on - it was a link bid directory too!
Now, I might be a bit naive when it comes to these things, but it was the first niche link bid directory that I had ever seen - and it was a really good idea. What I love about the link bidding system is that you can choose what position that you come up in the results - depending on your budget of course.
I expect to see many more of these niche bid directories come out of this idea - and to the owner of the site, let me just say good thinking!
