It amazes me at the number of victims of identity theft.  You wouldn’t know it, but after attending a meeting for victims in my city, I was shocked.  It wasn’t just a little small group of five people, but rather over two hundred people attended the meeting.

I had heard about this identity theft forum on the news and it was calling out to the citizens of our city to voice their experiences and concerns about identity theft in our area.

In the two hours that the meeting was in progress, I saw person after person share their stories of identity theft and how they believed that something needed to be done.  There was not one person that didn’t acknowledge that it wasn’t a problem in our city.

After the meeting we signed a petition to get politicians to come up with some hard-nosed policies when it comes to the theft of someone’s identity.  We’ll just see if they do anything about it.
