Acne: What are your options?

You probably already know, but I will say it anyway. Keeping your face clean can be a chore, to say the least. Because outbreaks always happen at the worst possible moment, such as right before an important job interview, or even worse before a first date, the hassle of it all can be equally frustrating. But, if you can learn what causes acne in the first place, than you can prevent it.

In this article, I will try to explain to you what steps you will need to take to not only clean your skin, but to keep it that way. This article will also look at a variety of treatment options, and provide you with the information to decide which is best for you.

The most common and easiest to use acne treatment is topical creams, lotions, and ointments. These can come in the form of scrubs that are used to clean the oil and dirt from your skin, or they can be in the form of a cream that dries up the excess oil in the skin.

Because acne outbreaks are caused by first, the fact that the skins pores become clogged with dirt, and second the over production of naturally occurring oils, caused by the over stimulation of glands. Last, bacteria finds its way into the clogged pores, and sets up shop within the oils, and from there millions of additional bacteria are produced.

Now, armed with the knowledge of not only the root cause of you acne, but also the best treatment options, you can begin your attack. The first and most important step in defeating acne is to get your skin clean. This can be done with the help of facial cleansers or scrubs, both of which can be bought at your local grocery story, pharmacy, or wherever else. In addition to these stores, you may want to try a health food store, especially if you are interested in trying out a natural or homeopathic treatment option.

Of the different types of natural treatments for acne, the most popular are probably foods, believe it or not. These can include various fruits such as oranges and grapes, and it can also be in the form of vegetables such as cantaloupe, or cucumbers. These various fruits and vegetables all have natural juices, which can be applied to the skin directly, although, it is recommended that you consult a professional before using these yourself, as you may be allergic to one or all of them.

The other way that you can take advantage of food, when it comes to acne, is to use it as a facial mask. Most ladies are already familiar with this, but it can be of use to guys as well, although they would probably not want to tell their friends down at the gym. If you are not familiar with the use of food facials here are the basics. You can use cucumbers, or other vegetables, blend them into a paste. Then, apply this to your skin. This will draw out oils and it will also help to clean your pores. Last, make sure to always drink plenty of water.

And of course, you should not forget to drink plenty of water; after all you are made of over seventy percent water. During exercise you should drink even more since your body will sweat a lot of it out. Remember to always consult your doctor before starting any new diet or exercise.
