Is Vegas the place for long holidays, or is it too costly?

Posted By stevenlocke on July 13, 2009 @ 12:37 am

This is a very hard question to answer. Is there a specifically best amount of time to take off for Vegas, it could be different for each person?

Vegas is going to start gripping at your money as soon as you arrive. All it comes down to is working out how much to spend each day. Casinos will draw in a most people to spend large amounts of cash. Just try not to spend too much on your first day.

Make sure that you weigh up how much you have with how much you are taking on holiday with you. It will be very easy state how much you will spend each day, but be careful not to under-quote yourself because if one day you find it wasn’t enough you will more than likely go over your budget.

Just for arguments sake let’s say your thinking about going for one week. If you were to just take a stab in the dark you might think somewhere around 500 pounds might do it. If you take an amount less to this, you will find yourself without money very quickly. So spread that out over 5 days and you will have (sorry for being patronising) 100 pounds a day. However if you head to the casino every day, you will more than likely need aq lot more money, there will be times where it just flies out of your fingers. This is just to keep the gamble side of things rolling, let’s not forget about food and seeing the sites. I would recommend a 3 day holiday, spend 1 in the casinos and the other two visiting sites, you wont go to mad with your money either then.

So in conclusion, it will be very hard to go on Las Vegas holidays without a large amount of cash in your pocket. Just be careful when you are deciding on what to take with you, take to much and you Will spend it all, take too little and you want have enough to enjoy your holiday. At least you can rest on the fact that Las Vegas weddings are cheap.

Tips For Renting A Cabin

Posted By stevenlocke on July 10, 2009 @ 12:09 pm

Gatlinburg cabin rentals are becoming increasingly popular with more people fulfilling dreams of visiting the Smoky Mountains. Pigeon Forge cabin rentals are also becoming very popular for the same reason. There is an abundance of cabin rentals available in both areas, but there are things you should take into consideration before making your choice on a cabin.

The first thing that you need to think about is your budget. If you cannot afford to spend a lot on a cabin rental then you might consider taking your smoky mountain vacation during the off season. Up until about May, you can find some fantastic prices on cabin rentals.

The peak season in Gatlinburg and pigeon forge is in October. Lots of people like to visit during the fall to experience the mountains in their full array of color. While autumn is beautiful in the mountains, spring is very nice as well. The mountains come alive again will lots of fresh greenery and wild flowers.

There is also another important thing to consider when choosing a cabin rental. Some cabins can be fairly high up on the mountain, which can still have snow left over even in the spring time. Not only is snow a concern, but you must also decide how far you are comfortable being away from attractions and amenities. The higher up on the mountain you go, the fewer amenities you will find. However, if peace and quiet is what you’re looking for, you’ll certainly find it high up on the mountain. There, you are less likely to run into other people.

You can ask ahead of time how far away from the attractions your cabin will be. You will find that most people in the area are very friendly and helpful. The area is full of southern charm year round. Pigeon Forge cabin rentals and Gatlinburg cabin rentals are easily found on the internet. There are also plenty of rental agencies once you get into town. Once you are on the main strip in Pigeon Forge you won’t be able to miss them.

National Parks – Walking In The New Forest

Posted By stevenlocke on July 8, 2009 @ 10:33 am

The National Park offers something for everyone. Whether you want to see it from its miles and miles of trails on cycling trips and New Forest Walks, boat rides along the coastline, or perhaps just to visit some of the many museums and historic sites located within The national park boundaries, no visitor will be disappointed. The only let down is that one has to go home sooner or later!

To ensure you get to see the absolute best and beauty of the New Forest it is a good idea to take up one of the many guided tours that are available within the Forest. The choice is yours and what your preference might be but experienced Forest Rangers offer tours either cycling, walking or horseback. This is a way to ensure you capture the entire beauty of the forest.

Expert guides can inform you about the natural marvels of the park, with walking tours given by wildlife experts, geologists and more throughout the year. No matter when you plan to take a holiday, there is always something to see, as events seem to happen somewhere in the park every single day of the year!

If you’d prefer some history along with your scenery and walk, the forest can offer that as well. Besides the abundance of museums located throughout the park, there are many historical homes and villages to visit during your stay in the area. Bucklers Hard, where Admiral Nelson’s fleet was built is just one of these places.

You will find the Visitors Centre will have an abundance of information for visitors to the New Forest. Because the Forest includes many miles of coastline and rivers on the south coast there are considerable aquatic attractions to be found in this marvellous park as well. Perhaps not surprisingly you can partake in water sports such as kayaking, wind surfing and sailing here or if not too keen in being too close to the water, there are many beautiful guided boat tours available.

The wildlife lover can quite literally have a field day walking around the park. Its status as a wildlife preserve means that there are many animal species here to be observed in their natural habitats. One of the best way to observe them is on one of the multitude of walks, whether guided or solitary in nature.

Amongst all the wildlife you will find deer in abundance hiding out in the depth of the trees. You might come across a herd of cows blocking your path in the road with all the time in the day and not bothering to let you pass. Horses and pony’s wandering aimlessly across the village green. This is life in the New Forest and just a tiny part of the beauty that this park has to offer.

There are considerable walks throughout the forest, many marked and guided and many that are not. It’s always wise to have a map, especially if you like to head off the main track. Exbury although not a forest walk but is a lovely place to visit, with its gardens set in 200 acres, there are miles of lovely pathways to experience here.

If your planning a trip to the New Forest National Park and plan to stay over night there is a good variety of New Forest cottages in the region where you can stay which can be found on the New Forest guides website.

Also while you are in the area make sure you visit the nearby city of Southampton which is renowned for its shopping experience and museums.

Spending Time In Blackpool, England and Important Facts To Know

Posted By stevenlocke on July 4, 2009 @ 4:03 am

Blackpool is an incredibly popular seaside resort built on the English North West coast, which is immensely popular with tourists coming from the nearby cities which include Warrington, Manchester, Liverpool and more. The town is also deeply popular with visitors from Scotland who appear in large numbers in a similar fashion to the groups of factory workers of old on their company vacation. Occasionally it seems as though the town is nothing but hotels and visitor attractions and although there is an incredibly amount of bed and breakfasts in Blackpool it is still best to book in advance to be safe. Hotels varies from the cheap and chearful to 5 star. Many are on the sea front but, if you would rather stay something more relaxing you will find a few in the suburbs.

Blackpool first started getting visitors in the 18th century who arrived to enjoy the new practice of sea bathing. When the railway arrived, from 1846, the town saw more and more visitors arriving to”take the cure” as sea bathing was called then. These days folk can travel to Blackpool by plane, railway or automobile arriving there much faster than the early Victorian factory workers who would travel for up to 2 days from as nearby as Manchester.

The Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The most popular attraction in the seaside town of Blackpool, in Lancashire, England, which entices about 7 million customers every twelve months, is Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The Pleasure Beach is large funfair with fear inducing big rides, just a few are Grand National, the Big One, Ice Blast, Valhalla, Zipper Dipper and Wild Mouse, and including many more children’s rides, roller coasters, thrill rides, sideshows, sidestalls and games. The most recently added ride is Infusion, the world’s first to be a coaster of suspended loops all of it over water.

A handy tip to remember: If you are visiting the Pleasure Beach as a group or family it is possible to make considerable savings by purchasing an unlimited ride wristband especially if you will going on every ride because the individual cost of each ride soon amounts to a lot.

How To Get To Blackpool And B&B Accommodation

As mentioned earlier, Blackpool is very easy to get to nowadays as you are able to travel to the resort by road, railway or air. If arriving by railway you will, most probably, be arriving at Blackpool’s main rail station, which is called Blackpool North on Talbot Road. A few minutes away, just a little distance down Talbot Road is Blackpool National Express Coach Station, Blackpool’s main coach station. The other rail station, Blackpool South, is at Waterloo Road, South Promenade, which is much closer to the Pleasure Beach. Blackpool’s airport is located approximately 2 miles from the center of town and was previously called, Blackpool Squires Gate Airport, one of the UK’s oldest airports.

Bed and breakfast in Blackpool is often available cheaply. Accommodation is less expensive out of season and not such a bargain on Saturdays and Sundays. Blackpool hotels are at their most expensive while the Illuminations are on, which is really the town#s peak season.

Please remember: Some B & B’s can be busy and noisy especially those found between Central Pier and North Pier. If you require in a less busy local try booking a place past the North Pier.

This Summer, See The Beauty Of The Cumberland Mountains

Posted By stevenlocke on July 1, 2009 @ 11:39 am

One of the best ways for a family to get away, is to find an idyllic location, rent a cabin, hitch up the boat to the family vehicle, load up the family and get away. One of the best places to accomplish this is with a cabin rental at Norris Lake in Northeast Tennessee.

Norris Lake is located just off of I-75, north of Knoxville. This is extremely convenient for those of you who like to have a bit of privacy without being completely cut off from the rest of the world. It’s always nice to know that the conveniences of a city are close by when you’re staying in the wilderness. The Great Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg are also nearby. With all of the water activities and nature activities available, what could be better for a family to experience together?

Near Norris Lake is the famous historic Wilderness Trail, which was first marked by Daniel Boone—a native of Tennessee. Residing in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains, the lake was created by the Tennessee Valley Authority when the Norris Dam was constructed. It stretches over 33,000 acres, including 50 miles up both the Powell and Clinch Rivers. The Cumberland Gap, used to access the west during Colonial times, is also just north of Norris Lake.

While Norris Lake attracts visitors from Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina and Virginia, it also attracts visitors from as far away as Wisconsin. These visitors come to enjoy crystal clear waters that the TVA rates as the purest in the TVA system. The TVA measures the water quality at 96% pure and visibility in the water is up to 25′. This rural setting provides views of crystal clear blue water with banks lined with natural stone and hardwood trees.

When the family tires of waterskiing, fishing and wakeboarding there are two nearby wildlife areas provide hiking and biking trails horseback riding. Norris Lake cabin rentals truly offer the vacationer the opportunity to get away from it all while still maintaining access to a major city and theme park for fun and adventure for all of the family.

If Tennessee is a bit too far for you to travel, you might consider a Big Bear cabin rental at Big Bear Lake, located in Southern California. The amenities include anything from horseback riding, to para-sailing, to skiing (in the winter).
