In this installment of our cruise holidays guide we look at Hawaii…

Going to Hawaii and getting to partake in the island customs is a trip in a lifetime for many people. There is nothing more exhilarating than traveling the ocean blue in search of the tropical islands of Hawaii and her sister islands. What an amazing locale it is as well! Sun-drenched sands, palm trees that sway in the gentle warm breeze, and golden sunsets are there for anyone who takes a Hawaiian cruise to enjoy.

For Canadian and American citizens, there are Hawaii cruises departing from a variety of seaports along North America’s west coast. San Diego, Seattle and Vancouver are the main departure ports for Hawaii, but numerous other ports along the coastline have Hawaiian cruise services too.

Hawaiian cruise vacations usually consist of a 15-18 day round trip, taking in Hawaii and a couple of other nearby island ports. You can also book a one-way cruise where you choose to fly back from Hawaii.

Lots of companies have longer Hawaii cruise vacations too, lasting 25-30 days or even longer. If you want to experience all that Hawaii has to offer, these extended trips can offer amazing adventures into some of the other islands such as Lanai, Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

Even if you are the more restless type who does not enjoy lazing around in front of a pool simply taking in the sun, Hawaiian cruises can offer on land adventures to satisfy you. Explore the dormant volcanoes in the small Kilauea crater or become more adventurous and find the amazing Mauna Kea. If you don’t like to hike, you can also do a helicopter tour through the Circle of Fire.

On the south side of the Big Island near the port of Kona is the Kona Cloud Forest botanical walk. If you are into water sports, there are various types, you can even take a submarine into the depths and explore over 25 acres of coral reef the area boasts.
