Make Your Dream Come True In The Land Of Israel

Posted By stevenlocke on July 30, 2010 @ 5:40 pm

Imagine for a moment that you have a dream. In this dream, you are in a foreign land where you are seeing things, learning things, and experiencing things that you never thought possible. Your senses are awakened and you can feel the warm air blow through your hair, the water splash on your face and warm sun permeate through your body. There is a tranquil feeling in this land, even though you may be surrounded by people. You sense the history of this place, a land that “once was” and yet still bursts with the energy and pride of those days gone by.

You find yourself in Israel, the Holy Land of Promise, which holds the history of generations gone by. Located on the eastern Mediterranean Sea, Israel reaches from the North through the hills of Galilee to the southern coastal plains and on to the Negev Desert. Israel is the only country that has not changed its religion, language, name or nation since it was founded thousands of years ago.

A little smaller than New Jersey, Israel possesses lush valleys, amazing beaches, and beautiful mountains. The winters here are short and crisp while the summers are long and dry. The location of this beautiful country makes it even more enticing. Israel has become a convenient stopping place for traders and explorers through the centuries due to being situated between Africa and Asia. The land here was inhabited by farmers, nomads and shepherds before the Babylonians and Egyptians began establishing trade routes in the area. Foreign goods started to get imported into the country and Israel became a more civilized, modern country.

Israel travel offers a glimpse into the history and culture of this magnificent land. The different opportunities for travel here are unlimited. For example, there are Jewish tours that are specifically for Jewish people. Due to Jewish customs in regards to kosher meals and services, these tours will accommodate them and their beliefs in every way possible. There are also Holy Land Tours that will explore the land of Israel from a more Christian and historical point of view. There are Bar/Bat Mitzvah family tours where Jewish families can celebrate and commemorate this special time in their lives. Any type of group can find a tour that will accommodate them - families, churches, business groups, co-worker, and even groups of young people.

Part of your Israel dream will be to visit Jerusalem. Sometimes called “The City of Gold,” the capital of Israel will amaze and thrill you. This beautiful city is an amazing meld of spirituality, history and culture. Containing a holy site for all three major religions, Jerusalem remains one of the most famous cities in the world. The city was built by King David 3,000 years ago and is the place where Jesus was crucified.

The city of Jerusalem is separated into two main sections, the old city and the modern city. Of course, the old section contains more remnants of days gone by and is smaller. In this area, most touring is done by foot. There are many interesting and educational places to visit in the four quarters of the Old City. This would include the Via Dolorosa which is a trail marking fourteen places that represent Jesus’ path from his arrest to his resurrection. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Dome of the Rock, The Western Wall, the Citadel, King David’s Tomb, the Mount of Olives, and many other historical places.

Modern Jerusalem contains the house of parliament and other government offices for the country of Israel. Some neighborhoods are inhabited by ultra orthodox Jews who live a very unique lifestyle. There will be a more Middle Eastern culture in some city neighborhoods inhabited by Christian Arabs or Muslim Arabs. The modern section of Jerusalem offers fine restaurants and cafes, museums, shopping malls, and other interesting places to visit.

There are some of the world’s best beaches in Israel due to its four seas: the Mediterranean, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea and the Red Sea. These provide swimming experiences, boating, fishing, and sports. The beaches are filled with people most of the time and there are generally places to change clothes, take a shower and enjoy refreshments. Of course, there are many beaches, so you can figure out which one will best suit your needs depending on where you are staying and what you want to experience. Some bodies of water, such as the Dead Sea are more calming and therapeutic while other beaches offer more activity such as snorkeling or scuba diving. You can truly spend your days in Israel just visiting beaches, enjoying the sun and water.

Your dream of visiting Israel, of course, does not need to remain a dream. Depending on how you will be traveling, there are many ways to visit this country of culture and pride. There are tours that are reasonably priced and offer fun, recreation, education and the opportunity to awaken your spirituality as well.

Discover The Water Bound Tropical Utopia That Is The Island Of Tahiti

Posted By stevenlocke on July 28, 2010 @ 9:47 pm

If an island paradise is the vacation destination you are looking for, you should seriously consider a trip to Tahiti. Located in the Pacific Ocean, Tahiti is known for unmatched beauty both under the water and on the land but you have to have a passport to visit. A US passport can be purchased quickly and easily if you go online and find an expedited United States passport renewal service offered by any one of the many online passport offices. These services provide extensive security making their use secure and efficient.

Located in the French Polynesia group of islands, Tahiti is the largest in this island cluster. While the main language spoken is French, many of the local residents continue to speak the native Tahitian language. Getting here is no problem at all as there are a lot of nonstop flights available from both California and Hawaii but remember, you will need a passport so if a lost United States passport describes yours, go online and get a replacement by contacting an online passport service. You will not be required to get a visa, vaccinations or special certifications to visit Tahiti so paradise is well within your reach.

The snorkeling and diving scene in Tahiti is one of the things that make it so special. Some popular diving sites are the St. Etienne Drop-Off, Tetopa Grotto, and one spot called “Papa Whisky.” Shipwrecks, caves, and diverse underwater landscapes make diving in Tahiti a very special sort of experience. The black sand beaches are a signature sight of Tahiti. The main island is made up of two volcanic mountains. Nature hikes are also a great way to become acquainted with the Tahitian landscape. Misty mountain paths and whispering jungles wait to be explored.

Some activities that are uniquely Tahitian include shark feeding, living in cottages build over the water and going on a treasure hunt for the illusive Tahitian pearl. If you are a real adventure junkie, you may want to enjoy wading into four to seven feet of crystal blue water and assist a trainer feed the sharks that swim right by you. Staying in one of their over-water cottages provides a unique look at sea life both day and night. Many of these cottages have a glass floor through which colorful salt water fish can be clearly seen in the crystal clear water below. You may have heard of the beautiful Tahitian black pearls but the truth is there are pearls of various colors waiting to be found on the beautiful beaches and, of course, don’t forget to visit mysterious Easter Island.

The Tahitian culture is rich and mysterious but saturated with their famous otea dance. This traditional Tahitian entertainment involves the use of grass skirts and a lot of hip action closely resembling the Hawaiian hula. The difference is that the Tahitian otea is done at a much faster pace and movement is almost entirely focused on the hips. Woodwork, woven pieces and quilts are some of the most sought after Tahitian crafts and can be found in many of the vacationers’ suitcases when they arrive back home.

If the thought of beautiful and rare black beaches and sun and water are an irresistible combination for you, look to the west and prepare for your visit to Tahiti. As you prepare, is you need to replace your lost US passport, locate an online expedited pasport renewal service, get that passport and then pack the sunscreen and head for a real island paradise, Tahiti.

Home Country Vacation

Posted By stevenlocke on July 27, 2010 @ 10:54 pm

When it actually comes to vacation it would seem that a lot of people choose to go away within your own country, there are bound to be many places within your own country that you have not thought about in the past.

Stay At Home

Whatever you do, make sure that if you are staying in your own country that you do not actually stay within the home and just sit there for a couple of weeks doing nothing because this is just essentially wasted holiday. It doesn’t matter if you actually do not have much money to spend on a holiday, there are so many ways to cheaply travel in your own country. It is even possible to actually grab a cottage for a cheap price

Finding The Right Spot

When it comes to going on a vacation within your own country it is really important to actually find the right place because if you do not do this it will put you off in the same way a poor holiday abroad would. In my eyes you really cannot go wrong with one of those spa breaks when it comes to taking a break in the UK.

Other things you might want to look into include theme parks and UK family holidays as people really to tend to have a fantastic time on these. When holidaying in your own country I would say the most important thing is research. When it comes to the research you must always look out for reviews of the place and whether it is for two people or the whole family.

So there you have it really, you could even go on one of those bowls holidays if you really wanted too. When it comes to vacation there is always something in your own country for you.

Help Change The Lives Of People Who Need It

Posted By stevenlocke on July 26, 2010 @ 1:52 pm

Volunteer Abroad today, and not only change your life but change others forever. Volunteer projects abroad are a great way to experience something different in life. Whether you volunteer in Malawi or volunteer in the rural highlands of Ethiopia Whatever it is you choose to do your help will not go unnoticed and along the way you will most certainly help the lives of many and improve that of your own.

Many areas of the world are becoming much more open to tourists especially that of the third world and developing countries. As many countries have finally stopped their civil wars and political instability it has paved the way for many tourists and volunteers alike to visit the countries. This is something that is only going to increase over time which is very positive. Volunteers now have a great passage to work with remote communities in rural areas. There will always be a need for them to be stationed in the major cities around the world helping with the poverty and disease there.

Volunteers tend to have a huge impact on many communities throughout Africa. There is an exchange of learning, knowledge and culture which is a hugely important experience as far as both communities go. Not only do the local communities learn a lot about the western world but volunteers also learn a lot about the developing world. This experience cannot be taught to them at school it is simply something you pick up on your travels.

There is a sense of motivation, a boost in self-esteem and inspiration often caused by many situations experienced whilst volunteering. These are all life changing experiences and ones which should be treasured for the rest of your life. There are desperate countries and people all over the world who are in true need of your help and support today and well into the future. This is an opportunity of a lifetime.

Enniskillen - Co. Fermanagh In Northern Ireland

Posted By stevenlocke on July 25, 2010 @ 5:46 am

Enniskillen - Co. Fermanagh is the county town, and also the largest town in County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. It is the current seat of local government for Fermanagh District Council.

Enniskillen is situated on an island between Upper and Lower Lough Erne in Northern Ireland’s Lake District, and it is an important tourist center. Attractions near to Enniskillen include Florencecourt House which is a National Trust Property, Marble Arch Caves which are a series of natural limestone caves, and Belleek Pottery where world famous and collectible fine parian china is produced.

Upper and Lower Lough Erne are justly famous for their natural beauty. The two loughs are dotted with many small islands. One of the best preserved old monastic sites in the island of Ireland can be seen at Devenish Island. The monastery there was founded in the sixth century by St Molaise. Some of the best preserved remains there are the round tower built in the twelfth century and the oratory of St Molaise. The two loughs are also ideal for boating activities.

Enniskillen itself was established by William Cole as a town during the Plantation of Ulster in the early seventeenth century (reign of James I). Before that Enniskillen castle had been the stronghold of the Gaelic Maguire family. The town’s oldest building is Maguire’s castle built by Hugh Maguire in the fifteenth century. The castle was captured by the English in 1593, but was regained by the Maguires before being finally taken by the English in 1607.

The importance of Enniskillen was greatly increased by William Cole. He rebuilt the castle, built two bridges, built himself a family house nearby, built the public buildings needed by an important Plantation town, and built many of the houses as well. Cole introduced settlers and their families from England and Scotland to do this work, and to live in the town. Mainly thanks to Cole the town had grown into an important center by 1688 when the Williamite Wars started.

During the war between the two kings (William III and James II) Enniskillen sided with William, and led resistance to James. Troops raised in the town gained an important victory at the Battle of Newtonbutler. Those Enniskillen troops eventually became two British Army regiments, the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and the Sixth (Inniskilling) Dragoons. The regimental museum is now in Enniskillen castle.

Note that Inniskilling is an old spelling of Enniskillen. Both Inniskilling and Enniskillen are Anglicized versions derived from the Irish name Inis Ceithleann which means “Ceithlenn’s island”.

Long Trips Made Longer: How To Withstand Trips With The Kids

Posted By stevenlocke on July 23, 2010 @ 5:10 am

Simply the thought of having to make a long car ride with a child is enough to give you gray hairs. Plane tickets can put a big dent on your travel budget, so a car trip often proves to be a cheaper option. Since the economy isn’t in the best state, many people are doing their best to save money. However, this shouldn’t keep you from a much needed vacation. Canada and Mexico are only a car trip away, making a whole different sort of world very accessible for you and your family to explore. Ever since the U.S. passport card id came out, families have been able to travel for much cheaper.

I remember when I was younger and stuck in a car driving somewhere, my favorite activities were coloring books and craft sets. I had these big pieces of felt that were in tons of fun shapes. They had holes in them along the edges, and, with a shoe lace or a thick string, it made the best little girl sewing kit. I also had a huge baggie of markers and crayons along with an assortment of coloring books, and I would spend hours coloring pictures for everyone in the car. My little brother adored the big building blocks, and since they are easily disassembled as they are assembled, they kept him busy the whole way.

My mom would bring along these “worksheets” that had little puzzles on them. As we were driving, she would give me one that I would work really hard to complete, and I would give it back to her to “grade.” I always got A’s, although I doubt I got everything right, but this fostered in me a love of learning. As I got older, she would give me whole books of puzzles that taught basic addition and reading, and I definitely felt so proud of myself after I completed a page. These trips really do present a great educational opportunity.

With the huge strides technology has been making, new electronic toys for kids like the Leapfrog Leapster are great way for kids to enjoy educational video games that will keep them entertained for hours. Also, on a little less advanced side, you can record your child’s favorite storybook on tape. Get a tape recorder and record yourself reading the book; you could even change the names to include your child in the story! Also, don’t forget to include noises that indicate where to turn the page.

Getting a passport card is so easy. You can either go to your local pasport office or even apply online. Because they are less expensive than passports, your family can explore so many places around the United States without having to worry about your budget. These cards allow you to travel by land or sea to many places nearby, allowing for a fun adventure without the exorbitant costs.

So if you just need to get away for a while, you don’t need to dread taking along the kids. If you are thinking of hitting the famous beaches of Mexico or seeing some of Canada’s natural landscapes, all you need to do is see your passport agency or go online and apply for a pasport id card. No matter what you decide to do, the memories will be worth the little extra hassle. I certainly have some great memories with traveling with my family, and I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything in the world.

Tried Britain Before?

Posted By stevenlocke on @ 12:02 am

Going away within your own country is something that could really be a very good idea indeed and this is because it is often cheaper, easier to organise and the best thing about it is that you do not have to fill in any forms! There are advantages to sticking to Britain when it comes to the summer vacation this year.

Forms

I know that it can be difficult to get to places especially places like the USA as it can be very tough because of all of the forms that have to be filled in when it comes to things, there are also so many checks over there too, it is worth it though. Now to someone like me this doesn’t matter because I love the place and will go no matter what but for other people it can be a real hassle. One of the most amazing things about Britain (if you live here) is that all you need to do is pack the passport and you are set to go anywhere.

Costs

So many times you will find the costs of that holiday slowly building up and that money could go somewhere else. Although it can be expensive to stay here in the UK for travels it is equally true that it can be cheap too. Look for the right kind of area and you will find the right place that suits your budget.

Things To Do

By no means are the only things you can do in Britain is sit around and do nothing. There are things such h as spa breaks as well as dancing holidays and even UK family holidays that can liven up any person’s aspirations when it comes to holidaying in the UK.

So there you have it, get out there and enjoy a nice break out in the UK!
