Ordering Wedding Related Stock

Posted By Admin on August 8, 2008 @ 10:11 am

As the population in our small town is grown, so has the number of weddings held in our town each year.  You see, I live in a small resort community with one of the most amazing flower gardens in the country and people are finally realizing that it is a great place to have a wedding.

This realization is very good news for me.  As the owner of the general store in town, I have the opportunity supply these weddings with everything they need including decorations, neckties (in case someone forgets one), and cake toppers.

I’ve also decided this year that we would start offering silver cufflinks as well as customizable engraved cufflinks for our customers.  According to the supplier, these are big sellers during the wedding season and therefore I’ve ordered a small sample to see how they sell in our region.

With a few are more months to go, it is looking like this year will be the best year for sales with respect to wedding related items.

Roofing Research

Posted By Admin on August 5, 2008 @ 10:56 am

When my son and I decided to start our own RI roofing company, we thought that the first thing that we should do is to check out what the competition was going to be like. We wanted to go into it knowing that we would always have work available and that we could be competitive with the companies that had been around for years.

We did an online search on RI roofers, just to get a feel with how many may be out there. Surprisingly, the results were quite a bit smaller than I would have expected, but we thought that we should do a little bit more research anyway, to find out what the going rate was for most companies.

We also checked out RI roofing in the yellow pages and called around to most of the places, pretending that we needed a quote. What we found was that our prices were very reasonable and we did not have too much competition to make it worth our while.

We have been very busy ever since.

My First Sale Online

Posted By Admin on June 23, 2008 @ 12:06 pm

It was just a couple of months ago that I had my first sale online.  Now, it wasn’t more than twenty dollars, but it was a step in the right direction.

I didn’t get to this point overnight, but there was some training involved.  You see, I had followed an affiliate ebook marketing course for a couple of weeks to get our heads around what we wanted to do.  Without the proper training, there is just no real guarantee of success.

Now, what we did was come up with an ebook of the best affiliate programs at the current time.  It was a lot of research, but we came up with a good list of programs based on reviews by many affiliates and blogs online.

It didn’t take too long to get the site marketed and underway.  But it did take awhile before we did make our first sale - and it sure made my day!

Why Blog for Business?

Posted By Jenn Brockman on May 26, 2008 @ 9:04 am

If you blog for business you need to be aware of a consistent posting schedule if you want good MLM lead generation. Having a schedule set that your readers can expect to see more information from you will eventually lead to MLM success for you if you are trying to build your business through your blog.

Blogging for profit is far from new and many, if not most, are blogging for that reason alone. Blogs seem to get picked up faster than almost anything else put on the Internet and as long as you have good, valuable and factual information, you’ll do well in the rankings too.

Blogs are great ways to share your own information as well as the information about your company of choice and many people want to hear real stories from real people when it comes to choosing an MLM business to join forces with.

Keep it real, and they will follow.

Helping my Customers Out

Posted By Admin on May 21, 2008 @ 6:10 pm

Even though I do offer a web design service, I don’t have the time to help everyone.  I have a lineup of customers and there are some that have more time than I do.  Instead of losing business, I can provide them with a solution to their problems.

You see, I am an affiliate for some quick and easy web design software that is available to the public.  When I am unable to provide the web design services myself, I direct them to the software that I market, and then they are able to create the site themselves.

Not only does it allow them to get their site online, but it eases the process of creating the site themselves.  Included in the software is a handy web menu builder that is as simple as filling some blanks - something that most people can handle.

Sure, by following this path, I do lose some income, but I still make money on the affiliate sales - and the customers are happy because they have been helped out.

Made My First Sale

Posted By Admin on May 12, 2008 @ 7:39 pm

A few months ago, I decided that it was time for a change.  I was tired of working for the “man”, and I thought that I should try something on my own.  We had been putting money aside for such a venture, and it was time to give self-employment a try.

Now, I didn’t just jump in with both feet into the unknown - there was a lot of planning involved.  There were many choices of things that I could do, and I weighed each option as to what sort of return that I could expect.

In the end, I decided to become a merchant account sales rep, and provide local businesses with terminals to process their credit and debit payments.  The part I liked best was the residual income that it provided, as well as the return on my work that I could expect.

Not even a week into it, I made my first sale, and I have never looked back.  Now, I am making more money than I had thought possible, and I am so happy that I took this path in my life.

How to Setup a Store Selling Lingerie

Posted By Jenn Brockman on @ 7:00 am

If you are considering selling lingerie, there are few things you might want to consider first.
The first thing is to understand what type of lingerie you want to sell. Do you want high end, delicate and detailed fancy bras and undies, or do you want to provide the plain jane everyday type of undergarments? You might consider selling specialty items like corsets or mastectomy bras also.
In either case you will need to find at least one place to buy your wholesale lingerie.

Next, consider location.

Do you want to sell on line or locally in a real store? If you want to sell locally, consider location carefully. Depending on what type of lingerie you are selling, your customers may not want everyone to see them coming in or leaving your store.

If you are selling online this is not such a big deal at all as all your customers will be kept private. But, you do need to consider what your packaging will be like. Will it tell the mail man or the neighbors what they ordered just from the outside of the box?

Consider who your customers will be and what they are comfortable with before you move forward.

Ten Year Anniversary

Posted By Twyla on May 9, 2008 @ 12:39 pm

I was in the market to buy some promotional products to advertise the tenth anniversary of my children’s clothing store and I was amazed at what was available. I wanted to get something that would appeal to the kids as well as the parents and when I saw the catalogue I had no idea where to start.

There was even a whole section on corporate gifts. I wasn’t really interested in this at the particular time, but I knew this may come in handy as my business keeps growing and growing. I have three times the staff that I had when I started ten years ago and we have had to move to a bigger location twice.

I decided that I was going to get tiny teddy bears wearing advertising T-shirts for my promotional items. The kids loved them and I am sure that, if the kids are anything like my own, their mothers would be picking these things off the floor day after day and would always be reminded that I am here.

Looking for High Markup Items

Posted By Admin on May 6, 2008 @ 2:51 am

I have been considering setting up a web store for some time now, but I have been having issues deciding what to sell online.  It is not that it is really tough to find something, but I have been looking for something that has the highest markup possible.

So, I have been searching high and low for the "right" thing to sell.  During my search, I passed up things such as Magick Talismans, Magick Spells & Rituals, and others.  There just really wasn’t much of a market for these things (from what I could see), so I moved on to find other things.

As it turns out, I was able to find the perfect thing for my business: Amulets & Charms.  What I liked about these items was that the markup was good, and the shipping cost was small.  It looked like the perfect combination for me.

So, all I have to do is find a few more items to sell and then I think I will setup shop.  I just can’t wait until the money rolls in!

A Different Career Path

Posted By Admin on April 28, 2008 @ 2:25 pm

My cousin just finished high school and had to find a job in the real world.  He is bright, but from the times that I have talked to him, he really expressed no interest in furthering his education by attending college.

He had no problem getting a job, but it was clear after a couple of months that he wasn’t happy.  He didn’t like working hours set by someone else for such little pay - he had always had an entrepreneurial spirit in him.

I suggested that he follow his passion of motorcycles and do something along those lines.  Though I didn’t know what he should do, I told him that the best idea would be to do a little brainstorming and soul searching to figure out what he wanted to be when he grew up  and take steps to make that happen.

When I spoke with him a month later, he had become a Cycle Trader, helping others find the perfect motorcycle for their budget and he was enjoying providing the service to his clients.  He had finally found his calling.
