When it was time for our annual Sunday School picnic this year, I was asked to come up with some fun ideas to keep the kids entertained. I had a fabulous time putting together some obstacle courses, making the difficulty of them vary according to the ages of the children.
One of the suggestions that were brought up was that we rent some inflatable slides to put out in the church parking lot. I thought that this was a great idea and it turned out to be the highlight of the event for several of the kids that were there.
After the picnic, my kids asked me if we could get one of those slides for our yard. I explained that it would take up entirely too much room, but I am glad that they enjoyed themselves. We may just have to make the slides a part of our annual event.
Once in awhile, I like to treat myself to a day of pampering. Now, I am no girl, so I don’t mean a pedicure, or anything like that.
Rather, I like to treat myself to a day of being rich and famous - or at least the illusion of being rich and famous. What I do to fulfill my fantasy is rent a Philadelphia limo to drive around town.
From there, I go out for a day on the town, full of dining in fancy restaurants, and usually catching a show. I don’t do it alone, and I make sure to invite my closest friends to come along.
We go along with the illusion of wealth and make sure to dress up for the part.
At the end of the day, we end the night at an upper class club and then call it a night. Needless to say, living the good life for a day is a lot of fun.
I heard on the radio the other day that there would be a big show coming to town. Now, when I usually think of a "big show", I think of a music performer or band coming to town. But this big show was slated to be something different.
What it was going to be was a troupe of fire eaters, jugglers and breathers that were coming to put on a show at our town arena. We haven’t had a show this exciting in years, and I was sure that I needed to get in on it as it might be the only chance that we would have to see such a thing.
So, I went down to the box office to buy tickets, only to find a line down the block. I knew that I wanted to go really bad, so I stood in line for five hours to get a ticket.
I just can’t wait to go see the show in a couple weeks when they are in town. I am sure that it will be the most amazing thing that I will ever see. I just know it.
My husband is an avid camper. He has been camping his whole life and has very fond memories of many of his campouts. To my dismay, shortly after we started dating, he suggested that I take a camping trip with him and his family. The reason for this is I am very much a city girl and I could not imagine spending a night in the wilderness.
I finally gave in and told him that I would go. I certainly was not expecting the wall tents that we had to sleep in. I figured I would at least have four walls around me and a roof over my head. I was disgusted that I had to sleep on the ground and was very concerned that a bear was going to come eat me.
We can all laugh about it now as camping is now one of my favorite pastimes as well. We take our children camping every summer and I find that with every camping trip, I become a little bit less the city girl I once was then a little more rough and rugged.
I have become an addict. I went, as a chaperone, with my son’s youth group to play paintball and now I am hooked. I love to go and play and even when I can’t get out, I find myself surfing the web for sites on paintball and paintball supplies. It has become an addiction, but it is not hurting anyone.
I have not bought my own supplies yet, but I know what I am going to get when I do. I really love the Spyder paintball supplies and I have their website bookmarked. It is so exciting for me and it has given me something in common with my son, who is totally into this as well.
I think for Christmas this year, I will get a couple of Spyder guns and we can challenge each other out in the snow. I know that he would be totally into this and I would actually be surprised if this is not what he asks for as a gift this year. All I know is that when I open mine up, he better run.
Having owned a number of search engines in the past, sometimes I feel like looking at popular search results from other sites to see what interesting things come up. If you haven’t done this before, you should try it out since sometimes you can find yourself rolling around the floor laughing hysterically.
I decided today to look at in Australia business directory and look at their most popular searches. I was hoping to find something to brighten my day, makes me giggle a little bit, and put a smile on my face.
Sadly, that wasn’t going to be the case.
As it turns out, there is really nothing funny about the top searches, I guess the site is just a little too serious. I did look at a business innovation site and spend some time at a diamond brokers site as well. Though they were interesting top search results, they were just not what I was looking for. Maybe, I’ll try another site tomorrow.
Some of the fondest memories I have of childhood are the ones from summer camp. I went to the same camp every summer, from the time I was seven until I was in my later teens. It was fun to go back and see the same friends every year and we always had a blast. It was like a whole other life for me.
One of the games we had going amongst our group of friends was to see who could get away with the most and see who would be the first person to make a counselor in training cry. It was never me, but I did try my best. I remember one of the guys in the group emptying a cheap bottle of cologne under the floorboard of the counselors’ cabin and then watching them try and figure out where the smell was coming from.
We had such a blast. It sounds like we were bad, but really we were just kids having a good time. Those were the good old days and in the end, when we grew too old for camp, even the counselors were sad to see us go. But, we handed our annual traditions onto the younger campers and maybe they are still growing strong today.
For those of you out there that have seen me play golf, well, don’t laugh. I know that I am one of the most horrible players out there. I mean, does a hole in eighteen constitute as good?
Alright you now know the truth.
But, just because you are bad at something, doesn’t mean you can’t improve. So with that hope in mind, I have enrolled myself in a Florida Golf School in a couple of months. This will give me a chance to get better at the game I love.
What I do like is that the Academy of Golf offers this professional golf instruction at a reasonable price. Which is great for someone like me that doesn’t have a large budget to work with.
So, we will see what I can pickup at the golf lessons - it would be nice if people didn’t laugh at me for a change.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes the lives of celebrities interests me. I know that we idolize them to some extent, but I find that reading the latest net gossip is a great way for me to keep up with their lives - kind of like keeping up with the life of your friend.
Sure, I use the Internet for other things too like reading entertainment reviews and getting the reviews on the latest movies, but really, what else is there to do online? Besides, I don’t think that if I were to put up a site about my life, anyone would show any interest.
But, when it comes to celebrities many people show interest. In fact, you can share what you think at ratingzone when it comes to celebrities, music, movies, and pretty much anything else. In fact, I would say that this site allows me to do my favorite thing online - share my opinions and ideas.
I can’t complain a lot about my job. It is great, with good perks and in all honesty it is fun. The boss isn’t too bad either and really makes the job fun.
But what I really like the most about our work is lunchtime - it is the "fun-est" part of the day. You see, each day, we have competitions to see who is the best at a selection of online games.
Last week, we were all competing for the best casino games player. I won at poker, but didn’t do so well at roulette. By the end of the week, there was a tie between three of us workers. This week, we decided that it would be the tie breaker.
I am definitely looking forward to the challenge. You see, we will be playing a little Donkey Kong and Sonic. These classic games I played as a kid, and as long as I am not too rusty, it should be okay. We’ll just have to see how good my competitors are.
I just can’t wait until Monday’s lunchtime - that is when the fun for the week begins.
