I can’t complain a lot about my job. It is great, with good perks and in all honesty it is fun. The boss isn’t too bad either and really makes the job fun.
But what I really like the most about our work is lunchtime - it is the "fun-est" part of the day. You see, each day, we have competitions to see who is the best at a selection of online games.
Last week, we were all competing for the best casino games player. I won at poker, but didn’t do so well at roulette. By the end of the week, there was a tie between three of us workers. This week, we decided that it would be the tie breaker.
I am definitely looking forward to the challenge. You see, we will be playing a little Donkey Kong and Sonic. These classic games I played as a kid, and as long as I am not too rusty, it should be okay. We’ll just have to see how good my competitors are.
I just can’t wait until Monday’s lunchtime - that is when the fun for the week begins.
Alright, I’ll admit it: I love my iPod Video. How can I not? It holds so many songs, and movies to watch at lunch, and even some pictures of my dog. It is my constant companion since giving up my CD player just one short year ago.
I also love the expandability of iPod. In my case there are hundreds of different iPod Video accessories available for purchase: everything from custom cases, to crazy home theaters with iPod docks. Personally, I just have and FM transmitter for iPod and a travel charger - that’s it.
The only problem I have ever had with it is when I first bought it, I had problems initiating an iPod to computer transfer. I was able to get it sorted out after talking to their online phone support. It was just a bad install of iTunes that I was able to fix.
I wonder how I survived before iPod - it seems like that was so long ago.
My brother just recently turned the big 27 and I needed to get him something for a present. He had expressed interest in World of Warcraft (WOW) one time when he saw me playing it. He suggested that if he had an account we could play together and that became the moment that helped me pick out his present.
I took a look online to find a place that I could buy WOW accounts - I wanted him to be around the same point in the game as myself, so that we could play together. I figured too that a little WOW gold wouldn’t hurt either, so I bought him some of that as well.
Seeing that he would be starting later on in the game with me, I figured he might be a little lost. I knew of a few WOW guides that would fill him in on what he missed and give him some tips and strategies in terms of how he should play, so I bought some of them as well.
I will be giving him his present tomorrow - and I am sure he will like it. Funny thing is, I don’t think his girl friend will like it - I am sure she will have a hard time getting him away from the computer.
In life I am pretty focused. When I choose to do a task, I focus on it and nothing else matters. This focus has helped me to succeed where others have failed - I can get things done quicker than most people.
My one weakness is the Internet. Specifically, the fun games you can find online on many arcade websites. You see, I really never played many video games as a child, so they are kind of like my Kryptonite and make me lose my focus.
I am especially weak when it comes to fun action games and fun puzzle games. Whether it be shooting some bad guy, or solving a word puzzle, these games entertain my brain in ways that work never can. I can sit and spend hours of my life playing games and get nothing done.
So, what I have done is setup a timer that I start when I do sit down to play a game that shuts my computer off after an hour - that way, I don’t waste my whole day playing games. At least it should work in theory….
I’ll be the first to admit it - I love a good crossword puzzle. Whenever I have a free minute, I sit down, break out a crossword book and get right at it. I have been know from time to time to sit at the computer and do some free online crossword puzzles as well.
You might wonder where my love or fascination of this activity came from - I blame genetics. You see, my mother and her mother before her did crossword puzzles, so I guess I was destined to do them as well.
I love the fact that this simple activity helps me with my spelling and keeps my mind sharp - I wouldn’t want old age to slip in. In fact, lately I have been trying out some free crossword puzzle makers to try my hand at making my own. I figure that I could make my own and give my mother and grandmother them to try out. So far, I have had mixed success - but I am going to continue trying.
Alright, time to take a break - where is my crossword puzzle book…
